Reunion!!!

Thursday morning (July 24) we left the Boise area after picking up Brad and his girlfriend Destiny. It is at this point that my photography takes a decided back seat to our trip. My sincere apologies, but I was really have too much fun doing other things to carry around the camera all day every day. I could have taken quite a few more than I did, though, so I'm sorry there isn't more to show.

This is a corner of the game room in the upstairs portion of the lodge. In the center of the picture you can just see a white shirt and shorts about to disappear down the slide that connects straight to the bunk room downstairs. The white shirt happens to be Madison, by the way. The game room was outfitted with a climbing wall, shuffle board, ping pong, air hockey, and a soccer table. It kept many well-occupied, let me tell you!
No dogs were allowed inside the lodge, but it was perfectly alright for them to be outside so Allen and Sioux brought their great danes and kept them in their camper trailer much of the time. Madison has an amazing fascination with dogs, though; despite their size, these were no exception. Madison walked barefoot across a gravel drive just to follow these two dogs!
Here is a glimpse of the beginnings of the auction as well as the setting up of the karaoke that we thoroughly enjoyed the first night.
Here's a picture of Kellen down in the yard. There is a fort off to the right of the picture, with a three foot deep pool out further right, a hammock just about the center, and a tennis court off to the left. Kellen scarcely came inside the whole time we were there; I think I saw him maybe ten times and probably spoke with him about five. He spent almost all of his time playing with cousins outside; it was great!
We had lots of amazing talent for the karaoke on the first night of the reunion. Wes did a fantastic job singing "I'm a Believer!", but he was by no means the only notable talent (he's does happen to be the only one I got a picture of) and they ranged from hilarous to very sentimental, including groups of Danes siblings with either Grandma or Grandpa at different points. During some of the more upbeat songs the younger kids had a great time dancing in the middle of the floor. Identifiable members of this photo are Allison dancing with Madison on the front left, Emily in the green and white at the back, Rosie in the nightgown to the right of Emily, and my sister LaNita at the far right of the picture.Since we were all going to be there together, Mom brought turquoise and green coordinating outfits so that she could get pictures of all her grandkids together. In case you're not familiar with them all, (left to right) we have Evelyn, Madison, Dallas, Elizabeth, and Kellen.

And then just my two!
It would take MUCH too long to tell everything that we did while we were at the reunion but it was truly a GREAT reunion and we had a FABULOUS time! Kathy did a really wonderful job this year and picked a really cool place. Thanks!!
On a side note, this is the ladder that goes from the bunk room back up to the game room, up through a trap door in the game room floor. Madison was too short to climb the conventional way, so this was her own method of getting up the ladder!

I love the picture where Evelyn and Madison are holding hands - that is so cute! And it's so funny to watch Madison back herself up on the ladder! :-)
