On to Camp Lutherwood!

Okay, truthfully, Kellen also had Cub Scout Resident Camp this summer. That was after the reunion but before Lutherwood. But Steve and Bob went for that, not me. So I don't have a single picture of it. We got home from the reunion on Monday (July 28), and Kellen and Steve left for resident camp on Thursday (July 31). Steve had to leave for Nashville early Saturday morning so Bob traded places with him at camp. Kellen came home from camp on Saturday evening, we went to church Sunday morning, and I dropped Kellen off at Lutherwood for the week on Sunday afternoon. Steve flew to Nashville (for a conference) on Saturday (Aug 1) and got home the following Wednesday, while Kellen was at Lutherwood and I picked him up the afternoon of Friday the 8th. Needless to say, we were running all over the place that week! So these pictures are of Camp Lutherwood when I picked Kellen up on Friday.

And here's Kellen. Do you see something wrong with this picture? The kids were skipping rocks in a creek and someone's rock hit the corner of Kellen's frames, knocking out the right lens. They couldn't find it in the creek, which is a real shame. If they had found it, the warranty on the frames would've paid for the replacement. Instead, it's costing us $127 to replace that one lens, because of all the really great things that the insurance paid for on the initial pair but that aren't covered on a replacement. Ugh!!
Madison, of course, preferred to spend her entire time there playing in the sand box.
I'm afraid I don't know that much about what they did at camp all week, since parents don't stay, but it is a Bible camp used by various churches in the area. This means that there are various religious activities all week as well as time to read scriptures. Each cabin (six kids or so) has a college-age counselor that has been through several years of training in order to be a counselor and they are with their cabin through all of their activities all week long. Kellen really enjoyed it and is looking forward to going again next year.
