OMSI, again!

I'm afraid that the only person you're going to see in these pictures is Madison, because Steve and Kellen spent most of our time there somewhere else and I had the camera. Maybe we need two... Just Kidding! Anyway, we were meeting Steve's parents for dinner at Red Robin and decided to drive up just a little early so that we could spend some time at OMSI together as a family. We opted to go splurge and buy tickets to watch Sea Monsters of the Deep (or something like that...) in the IMAX theatre. Wow! It was so cool! Fortunately, Madison didn't even freak out about the huge sea monsters on the screen that surrounded us. After that, Steve took Kellen to various science rooms while I kept Madison in the children's play area. She, of course, had a blast!

This is the water table. Madison is the red drape off to the right with the watering can. She spent a LOT of time right here playing with the water :)
There is so much of this place that is on a "See what happens..." basis, and that's exactly what this toy is. You put a ball in the top and then tilt the sides to see which way the ball will fall through.
Then there's the craft room. Madison made a lovely picture (I see her getting much more accurate with the glue stick than she used to be) but we left the picture drying and forgot to bring it home at all. Oops!
This is a puzzle that shows various parts of nature that we don't usually see as you remove the pieces. So it shows a small burrow under the tree, a squirrel's home inside the tree, the insect in the tree that the bird is trying to get to, etc.
And you can't have a children's play area without a sand box!!
Kellen had a great time in the chemistry lab and doing other things with Steve, too. Then we piled in the car and met Grandma and Papa at Red Robin for a very tasty dinner. They also took this opportunity to give us the title to the Mercedes so that we can do whatever we need to with it, and they gave us several more boxes of things that were Steve's when he was younger since they are cleaning out their attic and no longer want to store it. Now Steve will go through it himself and decide what he's actually keeping. Kellen has already comandeered the large bag of Hotweels that was included this time.

That looked like so much fun! I wish it was socially accepted to have "big kids" (aka: the parents) play around with all those things! I would have a blast of my own!

Glad you guys had fun, and that Kellen enjoyed the scout camp. I can't believe summer is coming to an end!
