Because it works...

Madison likes watching movies. She's actually a bit of a tv junkie if I let her go. She knows that the Bob the Builder movies are all the yellow ones, and they are some of her favorites. She randomly manages to get them in correctly on her own, but more often has to have someone do it for her. When one is over, she doesn't wait for it to rewind, she just pushes a button to make it come out so that she can have another one right away. I used to think that she was randomly selecting a button until she hit one that shoved it out. I'm sure that sounds silly, because we all think of the eject button, but if you have a protected tape then the record button will do the same thing. I knew that she sometimes hit the record button, but until today (because I just know watched her choose that button deliberately) I didn't realize that she knew that specific button would pop out the tape, so she picks it on purpose! It's not the button designed to eject the tape, but it does accomplish what she wants so she continues to use it!
