One step forward, two steps back...

Well, I got my acceptance letter from the university yesterday. That was exciting. The drawback is that I saw on the transfer sheet that they gave me elective credit for the education classes that I've already taken. Ugh. This isn't the last of it. I can appeal it with the school, providing documentation from Boise to show that the classes are comparable to whatever they have here. It's just a lot of work. Last year I had to take the Ed-Tech class, take the final for that class with a passing grade, and take a state test to exhibit my grammar skills (that one cost almost $100) just to get into the education program at Boise State. It looks like the grammar skills test isn't going to transfer to Oregon. Which means not only was that money wasted, and I'll have to meet Oregon's requirements now, but it is quite likely going to set me back time-wise. I won't be ready to get put in the education program here for this fall, which means definitely not being able to finish my degree in two years. That's the real downer. I'm going to have to spend some time making phone calls and checking in with the school to find out if all of that is really so, and it would be great if there is a way around all of that, but red tape isn't usually so accomodating...

Congratulations on getting in. What a bummer about all the transfer stuff. I went to 3 different schools and with all the transferring I had to take way too many classes more than once. It is such a bummer. I hope you're able to work around it.

What a bummer! I hope it all works out--you know, sometimes we have these little setbacks to test our faith. I really believe that! So, I hope that in the end the result is MUCH better than you could have ever hoped for!

That's too bad. I hope you're able to get it all worked out, and not have to spend too long working to get your degree. Good luck!

Keep plugging away and don't hesitate to challenge the transcript. I am so proud of you for going to school and working on this degree. You will be so glad you did. Any time you spend learning is not time wasted. I know what a bummer it is though to have to retake classes.

Grrr. I'm feeling frustrated with you. I worry, too, that if I start going back to school, having begun in Idaho, few classes will transfer. I hope challenging the transcript will bring some result and that things work out. Sorry you have to worry about acedemic wrinkles on your way to having the degree you want!

Ouch! That one hurts! Sorry their making it difficult to get stuff started down there. I would love to go into nursing, but I can't get into any nursing programs here becuase I am a military dependent! Just because I could move anytime.... But an education is so worth all the red tape. Good luck!

Keep working on it. Like Aunt Annette said, Education is never a waste. Hopefully chellenging the transcript will pay off. I'm proud of you for pursuing this education and you will wind up on top down the road. Anything worthwhile takes time:)
