Still here...

I know. Lately, the only evidence that I'm still here is that the design of my blog keeps changing. I probably won't keep this one very long; it's a little bright for me... Oh, well. There's another opportunity to re-create it all over again :)

Today was a series of ups and downs.

Up: I went to the bank and picked up my new debit card. I know this doesn't seem like much, but Madison lost mine a couple of months ago. I cancelled that one and ordered a new one, but it never arrived at the house. I cancelled that one and ordered a new one, but it never arrived at the house. No, that wasn't a typ-o. I ordered a new card twice, and both times it never arrived. So this time I cancelled the ordered card and asked them for an alternative method. They could send it straight to my local branch office, they said. Okay, that works. So this morning I called to make sure that the card was there before I went in. It was, and I got to pick it up, have it activated, and assign a PIN to it. This probably wouldn't mean so much except that we ordered Papa Murphy's a week ago (5 minutes before they closed) and they told me when I got there that they didn't accept checks. There was no time to trade places with Steve (who was at home with the sleeping kids, heating the oven, chilling the sodas, and waiting for me) so I had to leave empty-handed, all for lack of a debit card! So I am very glad to have it again :)

Down: Positive down-pour of rain all day today.

Up: Stopped in at the doctor's office and finally got the kids and I into their system so that I have somewhere to go if we get sick/hurt/etc. I've been meaning to do that for a month or two, as well.

Down: Went grocery shopping, spent more than I intended, got less than I wanted, and fumbled a gallon of apple juice, causing it to break open and gush all over the floor. That was a little humiliating.

Up: Bought the TaxCut program at Wal-Mart today and worked on it (off and on) through the afternoon, ending with a $4000 return once we get it filed. Couple that with the economic stimulus package, and we're coming off fairly nicely this year :)

In any case, it's been a long day. I am going to stay on long enough this evening, though, to post some pictures that I've taken the last couple of days. I have really fallen down on my Pic of the Day posts. I only started about a week after Rachel did, but I'm about 20 pics behind... Oh, well.
