Madison and I went to the park one day a week or so ago (it was before school got out for the summer) and part of that time was spent picking clover blossoms and sticking them in her jacket pocket.
At cub scouts one night we made 'ovens' out of pizza boxes so on a reasonably nice day we pulled it out and made a valiant attempt at s'mores. Next time, we will pick a much warmer day, we'll put the marshmallows on one graham half and leave it until it toasts, then we'll put in half as much chocolate as usual on the second graham half. I know it seems like you shouldn't cut down on the chocolate but having an uncooked marshmallow with liquid chocolate doesn't work that well...
HELP! The weeds were taking over the garden area in the back yard! We've cleared most of this out now, but some of those weeds came almost to Kellen's shoulders! I'm still not done, but we've made some serious head-way :)
Madison and I came home from some errands one morning and found a small visitor on the front sidewalk. Actually, if he hadn't moved, we probably would never have noticed him at all. I showed the picture to Steve later and he said it was just a garter snake, which only confirmed what I'd guessed. They may be fairly harmless, but I'm still not in the habit of picking them up! I'll admire nature from a few steps away, thank you :)

FREAKY! I would have been SO scared--even though they may be harmless! :)
I've only held a snake once. I think it was a garter snake - Morgan had caught it and I was feeling wild and adventurous that day, so I held it for a while before Morgan released it. Pretty cool.
I love snakes! For some reason they have never bothered me. Cockroaches on the other hand...eew!
At least it's a very handsome snake:)
I love how little children get excited over the smallest things - even picking little flowers, or weeds in many cases....
Do you kids like snakes? Emily LOVES them!
