We knew a while ago that Madison was capable of opening any of the doors in the house so we finally got a flip lock for the top of the front door so that she at least couldn't run out to the street. Now she knows that that's the only thing keeping her inside so a couple of days ago I caught her with a chair trying to reach the lock so that she could open the door! Just yesterday, Kellen went out to check the mail and forgot to flip the lock when he came back in, so she promptly went out, and none of us noticed for several minutes. It was only brought to our attention when Kellen looked out the front window and saw a woman with her stroller and two labradors standing at the end of the driveway. He told me there was someone out front so I went to look, and I saw Madison down at the end of the driveway with her. The woman said that when she had come walking Madison had been out in the street! Needless to say, Kellen got a very pointed reminder about how important it is to flip the lock, and we were very glad that nothing worse happened :)

This is a picture of her dresser. Notice the 2" ledge along the front and chair sitting right there. I haven't caught her on camera, but I've seen Madison go from the chair to the ledge so that she can reach things on her dresser that were previously out of reach. The reason there is nothing on her dresser right now is because she's pulled everything off of it.

Fast-forward to today. She climbed up the front of her dresser and was taking things off of it and managed to knock down this figurine. This was given to me by a good friend when Madison was born and, in case you can't tell, is a mother holding a baby. The wings next to it on the counter are supposed to be attached the mother's back, obviously. Madison dropped it when she took it off her dresser and the wings broke off. Somewhere I have some epoxy and am going to have to try to fix it.

Oh the joys! Emma can climb pretty good but hasn't gotten that high yet. I dread the day...
Oh, I remember the Angel Momma, I hope the epoxy does the trick. Sometimes I think we should just give the kids a ladder, it might be safer than the stuff they try to climb.
