Steve called on his way to work and said that if we didn't have to go out this morning (to take Kellen to school) we really shouldn't because the roads were just awful. To keep ourselves occuppied we made play-dough today, instead.

This was Madison's first time playing with play-dough, so she had her moment where she tried to put it in her mouth, but after that she spent all her time making "balloons".

Kellen, of course, is now quite accomplished working with play-dough and, when he poked fun at Madison, had to be reminded that he wasn't a great artist his first time, either. As a matter of fact, he also tried to eat it the first time. I don't understand that one because homemade play-dough smells awful; why would you want to eat it?

The worst part for Madison was while we were making the dough. She saw me get out my jar of salt and she thought it was sugar. I explained that it was not and gave her a tiny taste so that she'd leave it alone. Nothing doing. She got one of her baby spoons and shoveled in a spoonful while my back was turned! Yuck! There was much spitting and rinsing of the mouth and tears to follow, during which time I'm pretty sure she's decided salt is nasty :)

I don't know when I last saw white play dough. I hope Maddi has determined that it's not worth eating. Glad you all had a fun day.
